HOLD ONTO FAITH IN YOUR MARRIAGE:
Every marriage has its storms. When things get difficult, hold unto faith.
Faith helps us to overcome in our marriage. Faith is a gift of GOD without faith, we can’t believe in something we have not seen.1 John 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Let faith in God be the corner stone in your marriage. Faith is very important in every believer’s marriage, it help us to establish good relationship with GOD. Romans 10:17 - So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. If we want our faith to increase, we must be ready to hear God's word and hold to His teaching.
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The reason why faith is important is that, without it, we can’t feel the presence of God. Having faith in God, helps us to believe whatever we ask in our marriages, He will do it, in fact he has already done it, before asking. Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: By faith Abraham was blessed with a son at old age. In time of trouble, we must trust Him for His promise to come to pass in our life. Whatever He put together, let know one asunder it. Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Things that we hope to come are faith, whatever we see and experience can no more be faith whatever we expect, we must apply our faith to have it. Our faith must stand strong in order to overcome and see our heart desire to come to pass. 1 Corinthians 2:5 - That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
I said earlier that faith is a gift of God and cannot be produced by ourselves but through hearing the word of God. For us to receive that faith in our marriages, we must:
1. Trust God 2. Obey Him alone
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Some say I believe myself which is wrong; we must put our trust in Him alone to have the faith we need to move on well. As God provide us with faith, we must apply it wherever we are, when we have faith without action nothing happens. Obedience to His word enhances our marital life and helps us to be one as the Lord is one with His church. Therefore faith moves with work or action. We must know that doing God's will requires action! James 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James 2:14-26 - What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? Abraham had faith and moved when God said he should move. For your Marriage to be secure, you need action and not just faith all by itself.
We must walk by faith not by sight. Let us walk in our faith in order to produce what God want for us. Your Spouse’s action should not trouble you. Believe, it shall be well. 2 Corinthians 5:7 – (For we walk by faith, not by sight. Amen! Psalms 46:10 - Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Be still. God hates divorce and God will provide what you need in Jesus’ name.
